Georgia: Tbilisi’s new pedestrian bridges

In February of 2010, first-year students in GIPA’s master degree journalism program were required to write and report on issues happening in Tbilisi and Georgia. The best stories are being reposted on our news blog here.

Read Tamar Tomaradze’s report on 40 new pedestrian bridges being installed over busy intersections all across Tbilisi. Proponents say they reduce the number of pedestrians being hit by cars, but detractors say the new bridges are a simply a cosmetic change to lure voters in the upcoming Tblisi mayor’s race on May 30.
